Catas is an authoritative Italian research and development institute and testing laboratory for the wood and furniture sector.  Many coating systems of Renner Italia are certified by this Entity.
Founded in 1969, the mission of Catas is to "favour the technological development of Italian companies in the wood, furniture, furnishing and associated sectors; our object is to represent the technological benchmark for the growth and development of this market’s enterprises,   and to contribute towards the enhancement of our customers’ products, offering innovative solutions, with reciprocal satisfaction”.
Today Catas boasts two seats, in Friuli and in Lombardy, and offers its consulting services to approx. one thousand companies, organising update courses,  and carrying out tests on materials, components and products.
Catas cooperates with Italian and foreign organisations and institutes in product research and certification activities; it belongs to Eurifi, one of the most important research authorities  in the wood and furnishing sector.
