FIVE YEARS OF LIFE, HALF A CENTURY OF EXPERIENCE
Brazilian Renner S.A., and the heirs of Giancarlo Cocchi, laid the first foundation stone of Renner Italia in 2004 in Minerbio (Bologna).
Alexandre Cenacchi – president of the Latin American company – and the Cocchi family had already worked together successfully since  1967; that was the year Renner Sayerlack S. A., the all-time leader of coating systems in South America, was established. While Italy speeded along the rails of the economic boom, Cocchi had already accumulated experience and results: in fact 17 years earlier he had founded, in Pianoro (Bologna),  a prestigious firm manufacturing special coating systems for wood. Renner Italia is the natural heir of this saga. It is genetically imprinted with the professionalism, intelligence and passion of two protagonists who have been dealing with wood coating systems for the last fifty years.
Renner inaugurated its first factory in March 2004. Set in the industrial zone of Minerbio, a small town just outside Bologna, it occupies an area of 5,000 sqm and is completely dedicated to the production of water-based products. Its first twelve months of operation closed with  a 2.5 million euro turnover for 800 tons  of goods.
Already in November 2005 the facilities had to be extended to meet customers’ growing demands. This development entailed the acquisition of a further 4,000 sqm.
2006 registered a new peak in turnover: 26 million euro for 7,600 tons of products.
On 10 February 2007, three years from the outset, Renner Italia opened its second production facility: an area of 25,000 sqm, 12,000 of which are covered.
The second factory, today dedicated mainly to the production of solvent-based products,  stands a short distance from the first one. Singled out in March 2006, after the closing down of the plants of Timavo e Tivene spa, it became the object of a veritable miracle of industrial conversion.  Together with the Municipality of Minerbio , the Province of Bologna and the trade union organisations, in just six months Renner restored production to facilities that would otherwise have been closed down.
2008 saw Renner consolidate its market position  even further, with a 41,000,000 euro turnover and over 12,000 tons of products sold.
“The past can no longer be influenced by the whims of anyone, it is the sacred and inviolable realm of our time. It stands above all human events, beyond the domain of fate, free of uncertainties, it can neither be disturbed nor taken away from us: it is for us to keep, unchanged, for all eternity”.
