During last decade, demand of wooden doors and windows frames drastically decreased in favor of plastic materials. This trend is not only driven by the economic comparison. UNI 11717-1 standard was created in order to define the minimum requirements of resistance to degradation of wooden substrates and of coating systems. UNI 11717-1 standard reflects the state-of-the-art, is not compulsory and it is not a certification. Renner Italia laboratory chemists took part to UNI committee debates as experts in exterior grade coatings.
